Bishop Mar Flapianos Rami Qabalan
Born in Zaidal – Homs, Syria, on July 17, 1979
His parents are Issa Qablan and Hoda Ta’zia, and he has two brothers and a sister
He received his primary and intermediate lessons at the Martyr Elias Nehme Syriac Catholic School in Zeidel, then he entered the Seminary of Saint Assia al-Hakim.

He obtained a degree in canon law from the Pontifical Oriental Institute in Rome (2007).
– He was ordained an evangelical deacon on October 28, 2004, by the laying on of the hand of the Most Merciful Patriarch Cardinal Mar Ignatius Moses I David, in the Church of Saint Chiara in Rome.
– Then he was ordained a priest on July 16, 2005, by the laying on of the hand of the Most Merciful Bishop Mar Theophilus George Kassab, in the Church of Our Lady of Deliverance in Zaidal – Homs.
Bishop Kassab appointed him as a priest for the parishes of Al-Nabk and Yabroud of the Diocese of Homs (2007-2010).
In Rome, His Beatitude Patriarch Mar Ignatius Youssef III Younan appointed him as assistant to His Eminence Bishop George Masri, patriarchal accredited to the Holy See since 2014, and responsible for the pastoral service of the displaced persons arriving to Rome and Italy from Syria and Iraq. His Beatitude assigned him the task of lawyer in the case for the beatification of the martyr Bishop Mar. Flabianos Michael Melki.
He is a lecturer at the Pontifical Oriental Institute in Rome
His Holiness Pope Francis appointed him as an apostolic visitor for Syriac Catholics in Europe since June 2017. He visited parishes and missions in various European countries, checking on the conditions of priests and believers there.
