The Fraternity of the Heart of Jesus in Homs celebrates the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in the Cathedral of the Holy Spirit
The Fraternity of the Heart of Jesus in Homs participated in the Divine Mass, which was presided over by Bishop Mar Yulian Yacoub Murad, in the presence of Father Michel Noman, the deacons, and the faithful, on the occasion of the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
Bishop Murad pointed out that the heart of Jesus is the source of love that overwhelms all hearts, while the human heart is filled with different desires, which make it distracted, beating strongly in all circumstances, and tired… Every human being remembers, deep down, his calling and the purpose for which he was created. It is for God to share the joy of existence, creation, beauty, and love, so that his heart expands to become able to contain the heart of God, which has no limits or expansion.
He recalled when he was young at the Primary School of the Sisters of the Sacred Hearts in Aleppo, where one of the nuns taught him a hymn:
My heart is small, small
God is great, great
So that God may be in my heart
I must love him so much
He said: “I thought about these simple words, which at that age we were able to understand, because our imagination was also simple. I then understood that only love can contain God. Today I confess to you that I cannot understand them properly… as Jesus said to his disciples about Wealth is easier for a camel to enter the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven. How can that be?
Unity of the heart, meaning unity of love, meaning unity of the purpose for which we were created, is our calling.
The only value that remains in life is relationships. They do not die because man is immortal, with the testimony of divine love that conquered death through resurrection, and revealed to us our first calling to which we were called, and our original nature in which we were created and which we lost when we divided our hearts and dispersed ourselves in search of our self is outside of ourselves.
Worshiping the Heart of Jesus brings us back to the center of our calling and our nature, which is characterized by life and only free love, that is, one that does not know attachment, restrictions, or distraction, but rather walks in one path, with one desire and one goal, immersed in the essence of God.
And praying so that we may know the taste of forgiveness, so that we may taste the taste of freedom, and be satisfied with the love of Jesus.
